Abstract

In this paper we deal with the situations were individuals may experience repeated events, and thus data on an individual consist of the occurrence times and the number of events, along with concomitant variables, or covariates. For analyzing data from such a situation we consider the proportional intensity Poisson process regression model with the intensity function ¥ë_¥ö(t)= ¥ë_0(t)exp(¥ö£§¥â).
In this paper we study the statistical inference of the regression parameter vector ¥â and the baseline intensity function ¥ë_0(t) considered when ¥ë_0(t) follows the function of Gompertz form.
An illustration is given for the data from Gail (1980) on the times to development of mammary tumors for female rats which were assigned to the two groups.
